Domino domino on the wall

Domino domino on the wall;
please hold tight or you will fall!
If you should fall, the art might break;
And that would make my sprockets ache!

I am not exactly 'done' with this first phase of my Etsy project, as I am currently fiddling with glosses, finishes, and coatings. I plan on turning these creations into pins or magnets upon request. I used Ranger/Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink, Stampin' Up! Stamp sets 'Artifacts', 'It's About Time', and Autumn, Limited Edition stamps 'Background Script' and 'Clock Face', Rubber Soul stamp 'Winter tree, (positive)', embossing powders in gold and silver, Krylon Kamar Varnish and Judikins Diamond Glaze.

I am processing many others, and will post pictures as soon as I get them done.

Here's wishing you a lovely evening!

Previous projects...

This is a wood box I painted and sponged with
Delta Ceramcoat acrylics in Burnt Umber,
Raw Sienna, and Autumn Brown. I drew the swirls
designs in Krylon 18k Leafing Pen, inspired by the
artwork of the HBO series 'Carnivale'. I lined the inside
with a dark brown felt, and sealed the work with
several lights coats of Krylon Kamar Varnish.

Another box from the 'Carnivale' series, paper mache,
painted and sponged with Delta Ceramcoat acrylics in
Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, and Autumn Brown. I drew
the swirl designs in Krylon 18k Leafing Pen. It was lined
with a dark brown felt and sealed with several light coats
of Krylon Kamar Varnish.

A small wood box from the 'Carnivale' series. This box
incorporated the use of biting my lower lip while making
a weird face, Staedtler ergo soft watercolor
pencils, water, and Krylon 18k Gold Leafing Pen.
It was then lined with a cream colored felt and sealed
with Krylon Kamar Varnish.

A soapstone box I carved with a dremel tool. The lid
design was inspired by the PSX Botanical Calla Lily
Stamp, the sides were carved free form with an art deco
Calla Lily of my design.

The acrylic beads were strung and hand sewn onto this
$5.99 Walmart lampshade.
Dark Red Bead mix= $6.99
Decorating my living room in faux
Nevada brothel? Priceless.

Some previous creations

This is a wood box covered with strips n bits of indigo
tissue paper and scrapbook paper, sealed with Krylon
Kamar Varnish. All the bright brass hardware was
replaced with those of an antique brass finish.
The inside is lined with a dutch blue felt.

This is a paper mache box painted with acrylics,
sponged with metallic copper acrylic to give it a very old
metal pitted look. The design was hand drawn
and leafed in Krylon 18k Gold pen, with an image
inpired by PSX 'Botanical Calla Lily' Stamp.

A wood burning of PSX Botanical Calla Lily stamp,
hung with weathered green jute and sealed with Krylon
Kamar Varnish. Green jute looks REALLY cool if you
leave it out in your back yard for an entire year,
and let nature have her wicked way with it.

A paper mache box made as a companion to a tea set
with the same image bought at Walmart a couple
years ago. I use natural sea sponges and acrylics to
create the 'guinea feather' mottled effect, using
Chocolate Cherry with Antique White on a solid
Chocolate Cherry background. All acrylics by
Delta Ceramcoat. The image of the rooster was
printed on heavy card stock, and affixed with a backing
of Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive and embellished with
4 antique brass brads. The whole project was then sealed
with several light coats of Krylon Kamar Varnish.
